Application Platform Developer to Arvato Financial Solutions

We are looking for an experienced developer to join the Application Platform team at Arvato. The Application Platform team supports the other teams at Arvato’s tech lab with reusable services within authentication, authorization, messaging, API management, monitoring, and cloud architecture.

The tech lab at Arvato has 15 teams working with different capabilities and products, counting more than 100 dedicated software developers. In Oslo, they have the ambition to be 60 people within the tech lab during 2021. The teams in Oslo are responsible for products within eCommerce, invoicing, and recurring payments. Each team has typically 3-5 developers, a product owner, and a test automation engineer.

Your team, the Application Platform team, is a mix of resources that supports the tech lab to make sure they are able to succeed in their work. The resources within your team have positions like technical lead for QA, security experts, DevOps engineers, and architects. Today, the application platform is a shared development effort by the existing application teams. Going forward a dedicated team will ensure a continuous focus on the application platform.

Develop and maintain concepts, components, and software for the following responsibilities:

• Authentication (Auth0, Azure AD, legacy)
• Authorization
• API Management (Azure API Management)
• Developer portals (Azure API Management)
• Service Bus/Event Hub
• Service Mesh
• Rules Engine (DecisionService)
• Logging and monitoring tools (Azure Monitor)
• Templating projects (code and Infra-as-code)

Besides these, the work task is to support other teams and colleagues with examples and best practices for the components and services developed by the Application Platform team. You will maintain backlog, monitor usage, and health of the components and services. You will also assist to make sure of smooth rollout and migration of newer generations of products and services. There will also be proactive work with regards to utilizing new technologies and optimizing the components and services for upcoming requirements.

• Has 3+ years of experience with similar development (library or reusable component development) or around 5+ years of development in .Net technologies
• Has experience in advanced programming and computing topics like multithreading, memory management, code optimization, secure code, infrastructure, code migration and refactoring, reusable code, component development, and package management and versioning, like NuGet
• Has experience in API development (REST, GRPC)
• Has experience with cloud computing, understanding the overall concepts, strengths, and challenges of both development tools and hosting
• Has a deeper understanding of relational databases and optimization of databases
• Are proficient in English, written and verbal
